The Daily Brain Freeze: Serotonin as a Signal of Our Stress Capacity

Serotonin plays many roles in the brain and is often thought of in relation to mood, happiness, and satisfaction. Some very cool new research shines a light on “why” serotonin impacts these key elements of mental health-and what terms like “resilience” or “mental toughness” really mean when removed from the context of character and placed in the light of science.

Physiology is what unites us in an increasingly divided world.

If we can recognize the fundamental physiological structure of our strengths and weaknesses perhaps we can interject empathy, agency, and autonomy in both opening our minds, and building our minds on purpose.

A thorough article also written on the Medium platform about the role of serotonin in reshaping our stress baseline.
