Our heart doesn’t beat like a metronome. There is a slight variation between beats-this is known as heart rate variability. (HRV) The lower your HRV the easier it is to get “stuck” in a stress state. The higher your HRV the more reflexive and adaptable you are likely to be when experiencing stress. Think of yourself as a jungle animal-if you want to train to be a panther heart rate variability is a power tool to explore.

You’ll find a heart rate variability training session in our Ambassador Academy program. The simple takeaway is that prolonged breathing to a physiologically resonant cadence has been shown to have lasting changes in the state of the nervous system.
